1995 48hp Johnson OB Prop Play.

My Prop has spin play when in gear, maybe 1/4 rotation. am I losing my lower end? or is this a thrust bolt Issue.

Never heard of a " thrust bolt " before.----This may very well be normal for your motor.

Thanks for the reply and an oldtimer told me same thing and to in gear rotate my prop, plugs in but grounded (plug wires safely grounded to block), in FWD and REV, several times to cover all the teeth you would feel it skip.
And the Thrust bolt is from working on rack/pinion pushing the gear set together.

A clutch dog does the shifting.---------Not sure what you mean by a " rack and pinion " on this motor.
