Newbie here and don't shoot if I am asking a questions that gets asked every other day...
I picked up a 1995 40TLRT outboard that runs great. I pulled the lower unit off to replace water pump. When I ran it on the stand the prop did not turn while in neutral before. After replacement prop turns. I pulled apart to check the shift rod and no matter what way I rotated the shift knob either way it stays in gear. What am I doing incorrect?
