1995 2 hp Honda BF2

Hi

I am considering purchasing a Honda 1995 2hp long shaft outboard to use on my 16 ft sailboat. I have been considering a new outboard as well and would like to know if there are any meaningful differences between a 95 model versus a more current model?

If you are buying a running motor from a known scource ( dealer or friend ) or if there is a decent warranty. Then there is nothing wrong with used, if price is less than half of new.-----------Not everybody who wants to go boating has pockets full of money to buy new.

The motor has very few hours on it....5-10. What I would like to know is there much of a difference between a 1995 model and the 2010's?

probally not much difference
i would buy new

but motors that is 15 years old and has 5-10 hrs on it is not good
its better to have more hrs then less

If in fact it has low hrs and you can hear it run,---------------- then buy it if the price is right.
