I am having a problem re start

I am having a problem re starting my engine after running at high rpm for an extended period of time. It wont start for maybe an hour or so but if I idle down and leave boat running for about 5 or 10 min before I shut it off it will immediatly start. Can anyone help with this issue I am out of ideas. Thanks

"You may have a fuel delivery problem.Pump lines etc.Sounds strange I know but the higher rpm forces out put from a sub par system to keep it running.Then at idle the burn rate of motor is so low that the carbs can re fill as you idle even with a sub par fuel delivery system.The difference in restartin is the fuel level in the carb.I would start by checking for pin holes in pump diaphram then check fuel tank venting then for cracks in fuel line between tank and pump.Sorry the very first thing should be strainer on carb make sure its clear.If the lines between tank and pump are hard to get to install a section of transparent fuel line between pump and carbs run motor and watch closely for bubbles in line.I strongly recommend fixing this before running high rpm ,experiment with running slower mid range speeds you can run and stil restart."

Thanks for the help I really appreciate it. I have already checked the tank vent and now in the process of checking lines from the tank to the motor. Again thanks for the assistance.

"After you've run it for an hour and shut it down do you tilt the motor up? All your fuel maybe draining from the carbs and you might have sticking needle and seat in carbs ?? if you try all that George suggested just remember no high rpm until sorted as lack of fuel means lack of oil, no lube in cylinders and Kapow!! it could all be over."

"I do at times, end up taking the cover off and tilting the motor up to play with the throttle to get fuel to the carb sometimes this temporarily solves the problem and it will start up right away but the next time I anchor up its the same issue all over again. Thanks again for your help much appreciated."
