i have a 94 force 40 h.p outboard. the other day i was boating and when i re-started the motor and put it in gear the boat would not go foreward or reverse????!!!!!. the motor revs up but nothing. how do i check to see if my lower unit is shot???. are there any tests i can manually do to check it??. when i raised the motor i can spin the prop and it feels like it is giving a bit of resistance, but it is not locked up. please help. i have ound a lower unit in worse case but it is for a 87 force 35 h.p, will it work on mine?? or how do i tell. any help would be appreciated. thanks
