I have a 1994 9.9 Evinrude Electric start which has not run for a long time. I have replaced fuel pump, impeller kit and cleaned carb etc and it now runs perfectly but when I connected a battery it smoked the rectifier. I have bought a new rectifier but the wires apart from the red wire are all yellow with no trace colours. Am I right in assuming that as it is diodes within, it does'nt matter which yellow wire connects to which on the engine side? Wires on the engine are yellow/blue, yellow/gray and yellow.
Don't want to make the "Assume" mistake.
Thank for any help.
