This is my First post and I am new to the site. I need some help figuring out my engine. the past four or five times I have taken it out on the water I've been able to get it started once or twice and it runs great those two times. However after those two starts and I go to turn the key, the engine doesn't even attempt to turn over, literally nothing happens at all. All other electronics on the boat work, I have replaced the starter, starter solenoid, rectifier, fuel lines, replaced the battery, and did a full carb rebuild. I am at a complete loss as to what could be the issue. PLEASE HELP!

Safety switch in the control box ?
If you are talking the kill switch, that is connected. If something else then I am not sure what you mean. I should also mention that I can try like crazy on the water to start it and nothing with happen but 20 minuets after pulling the boat out of the water the motor will start again. Very confusing

?----The " kill switch " cuts off ignition to stop the spark.-----The " neutral safety switch " prevents cranking when motor is in gear !

If using a side mounted OMC/Bombardier control box... Inside the box is a "Neutral Safety Switch" with two white wires attached to it.

Loosen the two screws, shove the switch a little closer to the lobe that activates it, tighten the screws. That should do it.

Thank you for your responses. I have yet to have time to try these solutions. I will let you know how it goes once I try them
