1994 evinrude 140hp s.l.o.w. feature

Is it possible that the trimming the motor up could activate the s.l.o.w feature. Thinking back to when I was out testing on the water. I think i remember the motor having issues while trimming up. When installing the motor on it's current boat I think there was 5 wires coming from the trim plug at the motor. I only used the red,green and blue wires that ran to the trim switch. Could that be an issue?

Those other 2 wires might be for the trim gauge.----What color are those 2 wires?

The other 2 wires coming.from the trim plug at.the motor are white/brown and black/grey

Took the boat out this afternoon. At about 3/4 throttle ran great. On my way back to the ramp I opened it up to wot after about a mile or so it went into slow mode. Never trimmed up so I can rule that out
