(1994) Evinrude 115 battery hooked up backwards

Just installed 94 evinrude 115 on my boat and my friend hooked the battery terminals up backwards. I’ve done some digging online and it looks like we may have fried the rectifier. Any advice? Thanks

Have the rectifier checked out before you replace it. You may have hurt other electrical components but you'll find out when you try to run it.

Advice..... Dont let friends connect batteries!

It would have been fried quicker than you can say, "Oh bother"

Its easy to check if you have a digital meter with a diode test range, or an old analog meter with ordinary resistance ranges.
