"I have a 1994 suzuki DT40. Motor sat for a long time, so I rebuilt the carb and fuel pump. New fuel lines and filer. Engine is difficult to get started. Once it starts, it will run ok for a few minutes, then bogs down and sputters, then stalls. Then it will not start, but if you wait a little bit and crank again, it will fire back up and repeat the same process. Was able to keep it running for about 10 minutes at higher rpm, but when you try to let it idle it will just sputter and die again. Also sounds like it is miss firing. Any suggestions?? Do not want to pump money into this thing if it is a serious problem"

Carbs not in sync. Sat for a l

Carbs not in sync. Sat for a long time then you need to make sure that main nozzle/jets are squeaky clean or just replace them. Not very expensive. Head gasket could be leaking in water causing the bogging and dying. When engine heats up gasket heats up allowing more water in cylinder thus the bogging and finally dying and then waiting for 10 minutes gasket cools retracts and starts again thus only dying 10 minutes later.
