1994 88hp Runs - prop no turn

Engine works.

Will not turn prop in either direction. Linkage appears ok.

Is their a shear pin somewhere ?

In neutral.... turn the propeller constantly while you have someone put the engine into either gear. If you feel a very slight difference (increase) in friction when the unit goes into gear... suspect a sheared (broken) driveshaft.

I will verify, but when I was checking it, that's what I felt.

Is it much of a job ? If I get a manual, can a "parts replacer" accomplish this job ?

With a factory manual specificly for that engine, I feel sure that you could handle it.
