was out this weekend and at full speed 4500rpm thing were going great then all the sudden the motor bogged down and stalled. turned the key and it started right back up. but now at full throttle it dies every time. only will run if rpms are kept about at 2200. i cleaned the carbs but they were super clean from me doing it a week ago. i did notice that the clear inline fuel filter wont stay full. the more throttle i give the more it drains. have a clean fuel filter and water fuel sperator. could this be the fuel pump? anything else i should check?

any help would be great. thanks in advance

Possible...Anything in the fuel system can do that as well a variety of things on the mechanical side. Start off with the fuel itself and work your way from the tank to the reeds. Other than a WAG the only way to find the problem is by starting from A and working backwards to Z until you find it.

well i found out that i have no compression on the middle cylinder other 2 have 148. the cylinder wall has groves in them. any one now any good places to have top end rebuild??

Due to the age of the engine, a rebuild is probably not cost effective. The first thing that needs to be done, is to determine how deep you would have to go on the bore on the block. If it is over the oversize piston size the engine is offically a write off.

can this motor be resleeved or only borded one over? i finally had a chance to take it apart and have been calling around for pricing but know one seems to know this engine to well and i dont want to give it to someone that is going to mess it up more then it all ready is.

Could be, yes. But, there is only one place in the U.S. qualified to do it... Keep in mind this is an 18 year old engine with a value of less than a $1000.00 in good running condition. It's really not cost effective to go further with it.
