1993 motor shuts down

"Hi, I have a 1993 johnson 150

"Hi, I have a 1993 johnson 150hp outboard. Carbs have been rebuilt,new filter, many new parts. When driving anywhere from 2500 rpms to 4500 rpms motor just shuts down. No warning no sputtering, just shuts down shuts off like someone turned the key switch off. Sometimes it will start right back up and will be fine, other times I have to wait at least 5 minutes before it will srart up. I replaced the cut out switch even left it disconnected but either way it still does it. Its driving me nuts. Anyone have any idea on what my problem ma be. Please help/ Thanks."
 
"Disconnect the black/yellow w

"Disconnect the black/yellow wire (kill circuit) from the ignition switch. If this cures the problem, replace the ignition switch.

If not, visually inspect the stator under the flywheel. If there are cracks and a substance dripping out of it down on the powerhead, the stator is failing and resulting in a voltage drop to the powerpack capacitor when the engine warms up (weak or no ignition)."
