I recently replaced my blown Johnson motor with a Mercury 175 HP. The Johnson had dual steering cables and all I could find for the Mercury is a single cable steering. The problem I'm having is I can not turn the wheel to the right at WOT fully trimmed up. Sitting still motor up or down it turns both ways just fine. WOT motor all the way down turns both ways just fine. When I start trimming it up at WOT it starts to get stiff to the right to the point it will not turn right at all. I have adjusted the tab as much as it will go and still no luck. I know I should go with hydraulic steering but I can't afford it right now.
