"I found oil dripping from prop., remove prop found fishing line wrap around thrust hub.Try to remove thrust hub but it broke. How do I get it off to remove all fishing line and replace seals

"Michel, sounds like you have

"Michel, sounds like you have a couple of things seized/frozen up on you there. You should confirm first off that it is in fact the lower unit leaking and not just burnt/unburnt oil exiting the exhaust housing through the prop, which is totally normal (with the fishing line just being incidental).

If you do need to tear down the lower unit you should grab yourself a manual. The job isn't overly difficult if everything moves like it should but there is a number of steps that must be followed during disassembly and reassembly.

The thrust hub should have just slid off the prop shaft - try some (relase all, liquid wrench or the like). From there the below diagram shows what you will move to next. If you have a leak from the lower unit, it should be the o-ring that is shot - but get a manual....

It wouldn't hurt though to change the lower unit oil and check it out. It should be changed anually anyhow..."

I have two more questions for you, when I though I may have to go into the carrier bearing you mention a tool that I would need,I looked all over the internet and could not find it, where would I look to find that tool? and do you have a blow up of the shallow water handle for the 25 hp.The spring came undone and the hadle will not stay down.I cannot find where it goes back
