I have a 1993 Johnson 50hp with no spark. I found two broken wires on the starboard side: one black wire and one black/ yellow (it looks light green to me) wire. I figured out the black wire corroded and broke at a ring connector that attaches to the ignition coil ground lower bolt. The black/ yellow (light green) wire goes back to the main engine connector to the controls (red in color) on the port side. The kill switch at the control box also has a wire the same black/ yellow (light green) color.
I removed and inspected the power pack and no wires appear to be broken or missing.
Where does the black/ yellow (light green) wire go on the starboard engine side (see photo)? Does this also go to ground at the coil?
