Attempting to replace a broken stern bracket and noticed the replacement part I ordered on ebay has what appears to be a non-standard part affixed to it where the tilt rod is supposed to go through. It appears to be a very hard plastic insert and it won’t budge, even when hitting with a hammer. Showing a picture of the original compared to the replacement, along with a diagram of the midsection parts.
Question, does anyone know what it is or how to remove it?
