"There appears to be some sort of engine misfire or carby problem when accelerating at around 6 knts which disappears when 9 knts is reached with no further problems.I've had the engine serviced, needles and seats re-done but problem still remains. It only happens at the 6 knot range when throttling up."
 
Have you checked the little ch

Have you checked the little check valves in behind the carburetors?? I think you may find that the motor is between operation of low speed jets and high speed jets and no amount of "playing" can correct that

Hi my name is chad.
I saw that you had a problem with your motor and I thought that I wouldlet you know what was eronge.
The motor you have is called a two plus two. What that means is your motor runs on only two cylinders from an idle to approx 1500 rpm. It is designed to alow you to trol without any fouling problems. I just went through the same thing.
These motors are designed for fishing and not skiing and tubing. I hope that helps you
