"1992 Rinker Fiesta Vee 300 with 10.5 beam, 5.7 Mercruise Alpha 1 outdrives....What size props should it have? Tacs read 3500 to 3700.. Manufacture says it should run at 4200 to 4600.."

Assuming motor is tuned right, and you have right diameter prop on now, each step down in pitch (keeping same diameter) should pay out about 200 rpm, so 3 to 4 steps flatter would bring your RPMs up where you want them to be, but that's a pretty wide gap assuming similar loads - anything recently changed?"

"Might want to check the accuracy of your tach first - be sure it's correct. There is a slot
in the back to select the number of cylinders of the motor - could be on wrong setting. Should be
42-4600 at wide open throttle, normal load, trimmed out to max speed but not ventilating the prop. Hard to imagine you are only getting 3700 at WOT due to incorrect props. Are they new? Are they the same pitch you've always used?

If they are the same as previously and the max RPM has suddenly changed there is something else wrong - could be many options."
