1992 Mercry 150 Xr4 suddenly won't start

I have a 1992 150 Xr4 that was running fine but now won't start. First clue was the motor trim seem to stop working at the controls but works at the motor. Battery seems to be fine, radio works and power trim on the motor works. I'm thinking it could be the solenoid or the starter. When I turn the key nothing happens not even the tone before it starts cranking. How can I isolate what is wrong?

Doent even turn over? Jump the starter. Also, check the ignition wiring for loose wires or corrosion, and do you have a kill switch at the control? Check that too if you have one.

Thanks Emac I didn't think of the ignition wire but since it is totally dead and the tone before the engine normaly starts isn't working that could be it. Checked the kill switch and that is okay. How about an inline fuse from the ignition? I seem to remember a 20 amp fuse in the wiring harness under the cowling but not shure what it was for.

Check the fuse on the motor.
