1992 johnson 40 hp VRO to straight pump

Need P/N help. VRo disconnected but still have old pump. I have to pump ball on tank
to keep running. The engine dies out after running a while and when I pump the ball it stays running. I assume I have a bad pump. I want to change to a straight gas pump. My parts list shows VRO pump and another fuel pump. I assumed they offered the motor in two versions. Would I be correct? If not, can any one help me with a straight gas replacement pump and P/N?

Any help is appreciated.

Yep, I have to agree. I just don't know where it is. I'll have to take a closer look at the cap. It's seems to be a solid plastic cap. Unless there are small holes somewhere that aren't visible.

If an original Dura tank, it is vented through the quick-connector fitting at tank top.
