" Any suggestions or tips on removing and replacing the impeller? Do I just unbolt the lower end and replace it? Any problems with aligning the splines or shift rod back after changing the impeller? I changed it myself about 4 years ago but can't remember exactly how I did it.

"David..... Have the shift in

"David..... Have the shift in reverse, then remove the shift screw from the top of the shift rod. Then put the shift lever in forward to have it out of the way when you install the lower unit.

Remove the lower unit bolts and drop the lower unit. DO NOT distrub the setting of the shift rod height!

When installing, have the lower unit in reverse so that you can turn the prop to align the splines, and also so that the shift rod hole will be where you can get at it. Have someone slowly move the shift lever to reverse while you line up the small engine shift lever with the shift rod hole.
