The shallow water drive bracket on my motor hangs loose and I believe there should be a Spring or something to hold it in the place.Does anybody know the part number

The bracket I am talking about is #76 on the midsection diagram. Mine is loose. By that I mean it swings around. I believe there should be a spring attached to it

Looked at one such motor and bracket is loose.----Perhaps bending the bracket will provide tension so that it won't rattle.

I tried posting a photo, says to large for server to process. It's not the reverse lock spring, I've replaced that in the past
Resize your photos to under 1Mb

It can be done right from this site. See the little button at the bottom of where you type, the one that says ATTACH FILES?

When you click on it, you get the option to chose a file from “photo library”, or take a photo.

Once you chose one from the library that is already on your phone, (it will open your entire library), select the one you want. Now, before you do anything else, look at the bottom left corner- it will say OPTIONS.

Choose that & you get choices of LARGE, MED, SMALL. Try one, it will give the new size that will be attached. If it’s less than 1Mb, say 294Kb, then select DONE, then ADD, up at the top right.

NOTE: I’ve found, when using an iPad, the above mentioned “OPTIONS” was replaced in the last IOS update. it’s now two little slide buttons, in the bottom right. Tap that & you will get the window to select size.

I guess it didn't work. I have android and the instructions you gave didn't apply. If someone has an email I can certainly send the picture. The picture shows as 100% loaded

#76 is attached to Part #0303979 - Reverse Lock Spring as I linked previously. It is pricey at $44, but worth it if you want the engine to stay down when running in reverse. You might also contact Tim's Outboard to see if they have a good used one for cheaper.

Here is the part he’s concerned about.

Thanks for posting my Pic. I will shoot a quick video tonight and load to YouTube. I will put the link on here. Thanks everyone for the help so far

I do not believe there is a feature to automatically engage the shallow drive.----I see an after market trim / tilt in your future.

I don't know why I didn't think a post in the video sooner. But here it is, and that's the bracket that should hold in the place. So when you trim your motor up, it will stay in the shallow water position.
