1992 40HP Power Trim/Tilt Removal

I need to know how to remove the pin that connects the trim cylider to the motor.

First, raise the engine fully and tie it off to a strong tree branch or securely block it into place. You don't want to lose any fingers.

On the port (automotive driver) side there is a nail shaped pin that you drive out from the top. Be careful not to mushroom the head.
On the top of piston shaft is another pin of the same type. Once the two pins are out and the electric wire is clear then the system should come right out. If you are having trouble with the lower pin then sometimes it is easier to remove the whole anchor bracket first.
