"Im back and still looking , A 1992 40 merc Ive been told the motor mount bushings are bad ,is this common ,and is it an easy fix?"

"If you have the know how, the patience and a good manual you can do just about anything. But it has to be worth it.

If you figure that a particular motor would be worth say 1000 bucks if it had no issues.

Even if the parts are say only 200 bucks and the motor is selling for 500 you have to figure your time. So 700 for a 1000 dollar engine may be ok if you work for nothing.

If it will take you 30 or 40 hours of your own labour to fix it, or if you will incur other unexpected costs, or need a special tool etc then you have to decide if you work "cheap" or not

"Absolutely Jamie, and at least you, unlike the some of these other former colonial, revolutionary types, haven't butchered the King's english.

But even if they can't quite remember to put a "u" where it belongs, and they drink "soda" instead of "pop", we can stay friendly with them - after all, they seem like pretty decent guys otherwise
