"I have developed an ignition problem with my 115 Mariner. It involves my two upper cylinders and mainly the second cylinder and seems to be present only at idle. Changing plugs did nothing and that lead to an ignition check by pulling plug wires while running. I noticed slight change when pulling the top cylinder wire but the second cylinder is dead (no spark) yet everything seems to run out near normal once above idle. I say near normal, because it seems that my top end speed may be slightly slower than it has been. While not directly related to ignition, but as part of my troubleshooting I have done a compression test. It was fine.

Any suggestions or additional trouble shooting I might be able to do. I am leaning toward an ignition module problem, but in light of the cost of replacement I want to make sure I have covered any other realistic (and cheaper)possiblities."

"Ken, Attached is a wiring diagram for the ADI Ignition on an inline six. It may help, although I am not sure if it is exactly for your model, so match it up.
