"i pulled the fuel lines that go to the carburator, i pushed in the key choke and there was about a 1/2 second burst of gas, then it stopped. i have seen post where guys say they hold their key in for 8sec, what is the purpose of holding it in if fuel stops after a 1/2 second. or is mine suspose to continue flowing when i hold it in."

"the fellows,that say to hold it in ,before cranking...are wasting their time,and,..are uninformed...the primer,wks off of fuel pump pressure,it is simply a bypass valve...now,w/pumping the primer bulb,sure,there is a SLIGHT,amount of pressure,...not near enuf to start and continue to run...having said all this.......its my and omc's opinion,and i'm sticking to it,having wk'ed on the primers since 84,same time the vro's came out.hold key IN while cranking...!!"
