I have a 60 hp Johnson. Its hard to start but when it runs in neutral i can get up to 6500 to 6800 rpms. As soon as i put it in gear I have on 1500 rpms. and it always wants to die at low rpms. I have recently changed out the electrical, the impeller, fuel pump and spark plugs. Compression is at 100 95 95. This was a VRO motor and i just changed out the original fuel pump. i also rebuilt the carbs last winter. I am lost and don't know where to go next.

Look at the orange wires from powerpack to the coils.----Is the top one orange / blue stripe?----Bottom orange / green stripe?-----Stop revving it to 7000 RPM in neutral ----Not good for the motor !
