Today's maiden voyag

"Hi,
Today's maiden voyage ends after motoring for 5 minutes in the channel. A high shriek alarm sound went off. It was piercing. The boat wouldn't start and didn't want to take any chances. After a quick tow, return the boat to the mechanic.

Anyone's take on what happened is appreciated!

...and if you know where I can buy the 1991 Maxum 1800 XR boat manual, let me know.

Thanks Brian. Now I'm bumming. I too hope it did not cause any damage. I did stop running it after though tried one more time. It's at the shop now so I'll know soon enough.
