can anyone tell me.the adapter

can anyone tell me.the adapter that screws into the crank case to drive the vro fuel pump should it be a one way valve in it ? if so does it suck or blow. cheers Ged
 
"It is actually a flame arrest

"It is actually a flame arrestor, not an adapter. It is not a one way valve but rather allows pressure to travel in both directions. It's purpose is to prevent any flames that may exist wihin the crankcase to travel to the VRO pump. Since that line operates the VRO pump and is connected to the crankcase, both pressure and vacuum exist due to the action of the underside of the piston.

"thanks Joe,have stripped the pump and checked diaphragms all look good. but for some reason the motor is getting far to much fuel and bogging it down, will only reach 1500 rpm when on water, freedom 150 boat so only light. also got fuel running down inside air filter out of carb intakes. put the pick up pipe straight into a gallon can of fuel and it emptied it in 10 minuets. any ideas please. Ged"
