I was look for some help at the best way to drop the lower unit to change the impeller specifically detaching the shifting linkage from the lower unit thank you any help is appreciated

Find the shift lever that goes across the motor below the bottom carburetor.----Find and remove the wee hitch pin on that shaft.------Now push that entire shaft to the port side and rotate slightly.----Shift rod is now disconnected.
