"It is the first time I am handling the winter prep. I'm not sure what the marina did the other years, but, was able to run the pink (6 gals each engine) from a 5 gal bucket. I fogged the last 2 gals...

I was picking up the pink with a pool hose attached to the 1 1/4" hose that runs from engine to sea strainer. It worked well for engines, but now my strainer is still full of sea water. The boat will be puller out of the water tomorrow.

Will the water dain out if i open up the seacock?

I was looking to take off the clear plastic quart canister and found that the screws had not been loosened in many years and are now soaking up CRC...

Any better methods and ideas? I could get my comperssor to the boat yard...

TIA"

Make sure there isn't a small drain plug at the bottom of the clear container. many of them have a small black drain plug at the bottom of the glass.

"The water won't drain out by opening the seacock -> Tom's suggestion is the quick fix.

I'd keep soaking the retainers as you need to be able to access the baskets that should be inside the strainers.

Next year, feed the pink stuff in via the hose connected to the seacock. That way you can fill it as well as the rest of the cooling system"

"Better yet, just open the strainer and dump in the AF and let the engine suck it out. No pump or hoses needed.

And yes, there is a drain in the bottom of the strainer. If there is not, it will be the first one I have ever seen without one."

"Spot on, RM. Had to do that with my bilge since the marina didn't block the bow high enough (MY fault). The vac sucked out several gallons of oily yuck.
