Hi all,
I'm in need of help! This may be a little long but PLEASE take your time to read it. I have provided some pictures to what I'm talking about.
I got a 25 hp Johnson model j25teeie that seems to start sometimes and won't start at times. I have replaced the relay solenoid and that didn't help. I did use my multi digital meter to check my voltages and this is what I got. In the pictures I label number 1-5 and I will explain how the wires are connected. The first picture is the solenoid. I have label number 1-4 on the connection. 1. is the battery + connection and the connection to the button to start the motor. On label 1 I have a constant 12v. Number 2 is the connection from the button to help bridge 2,3, and 4 together to start the motor. Number 2, when press the start button has 12v. Number 3 runs to the neutral switch which is also on the other picture. Number 3 has 12v when the start button is press. Number 4 runs to the starter and that is where I get the short. That is where I don't always get 12v. What I have to do is unplug the neutral plug wire on number 5 and then plug it in and sometime it will work again. Sometime I have to leave it unplug for 5mins to 30mins and it will work again. Any idea what could be causing this shortage?
