1991 25 hp ignition module question

hi,my question is their any way to set the ignition module with out having the locating ring?I was told you could be IM not sure how to set it or how much clearance it needs? Any help would be great.thks kh4403

what part are you talking about this is a link for the diagram for the ignition of that motor

It'S # 22 ignition module on the link you sent me and evinrude # is 0584489 thks kh4403

no problem it might be worth your while to just get that part and put it on the manufacturer had it there for a reason so there is a need for it
