1991 175 hp Evinrude Stalls putting in gear

Starboard engine of pair. Yesterday both engines start at once..both run for 45 min. at 3000 rpm then troll for 1 hr at about 1200 rpm. Starboard engine dies in gear. Attmepts to start difficult, have to choke to get running, will run out of gear at 2000 plus rpm but will not idle and stalls on every attempt to put in gear. fuel bulb not compressed. returned home on single engine, will replace fuel filter and spark plugs today..any suggestions as to cause and cure ? Premix fuel 50/1. both engines run from same tank which was replaced 2 years ago. engines bought used 2years ago don't know total hours, I have put 100 plus hrs on them no other problems.

Troubleshoot...... Remove spark plugs and inspect their appearance, all look the same, some different, what?

What spark plugs are you using, and at what gap?

Check the compression. What are the individual cylinder readings?

Check the spark. Spark should jump a 7/16" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame.... a real SNAP! Does it?

" stalls when put in gear " ----------classic symptoms of a motor that is " not making power "-----------------Time to check the basics such as water in fuel / poor compression / no spark on one cylinder / sheared flywheel key ( timing ) / jammed lower unit---etc etc.

Found problem...bad power pack.it was running on 3 cyl ,.switched from other engine..it worked fine and replaced with new power pack...the boat is on the way to try to catch a sword fish
