I have recently purchased a bass boat with 1991 125hp Mariner, 4 cylinder (I believe), oil injected. We took the boat out the weekend after we purchased it and it ran fine. We motored to a few spots and used trolling motor, seperate batteries. We motored to a spot and sat for about an hour. When we tried to crank the motor back up it would not fire. I don't think it was the battery. Every thing else tied to the battery was working fine and we could hear the motor turning but it would not fire. After sitting for a little bit longer it finaly did fire and got us to the "no wake" and when we put it in neutral it died again. We could not get the motor started again. The boat was out the next weekend and no problems. This weekend we ran into the same problem. A buddy recomended (with the motor off) opening and closing the throttle a couple times and it fired up.
We are thinking now that it must be the fuel line and or pump. Any thoughts / advice would be appreciated"
