1990 merc 150 v6 OPINIONS ?

Had this motor rebuilt 7 years ago. plastic ring on crank failed for injection pump
Spoke with a few people and thepy told me to remove injection pump and premix the gas

What's everyone's opinion ? Wil it fail again ?'

Pretty convenient just to fill the bottle once a year
