1990 Merc 100 hp

I have recently obtained a Pontoon boat that hadn't been ran in 6 years or so. Going through it myself finding minor things here and there. Got it fired up and running good but wasn't peeing. Got a new impeller and found the splined bushing that goes on the end of the shaft coming from the motor was cracked and stripped. (part is ordered) My question is, how difficult is it to detach the oil injection?

Run with a 50: 1 till you verify that oil injection is working ( dropping oil level ) any motor that has sat for 6 years needs to be looked at carefully.------------Also may have a plastic gear that drives the oil pump !

Yea, we got it fired up but didn't let it run because not only the water pump issue but we hadn't looked at the oil pump yet either. Thanks guys for the info!

Remove the pump -------------remove the " driven gear " ---------------re-install the pump ----------Unplug low oil sending wires ---------------Mix at 50:1 ----------------------------------You might want to verify that carburetors are spotlessly clean !!!
