1990 mariner 115 wont plane out

Have a 115 hp mercury that idl

Have a 115 hp mercury that idles good and while in nuetral seems to rev fine but when you put in gear and start to accelerate boat only goes about 15mph and wont plane out. Tilt and trim is fine just had shifter and throttle cables replaced and engine tuned what else could be the problem?????

two things i would check the prop make sure that is in good shape try a different one see if it does the same thing the next is the fuel filter and make sure there's good gas in there not last years gas

had the same problem. check the stator as it's something that needs to be tested on the water when the boat is under load and is always overlooked at a service for that reason.
