Daniel....what do you mean " the esa switch doe not do what the book says" are you trying to see if the interupt switch activates the ESA? If so then YES the engine needs to be running to see if the ESA will pulse the ignition. Otherwise I guess I don't really understand your question.

I got the shifting corrected.

I got the shifting corrected. also replaced the u joints and gimbal bearing. there was a hole from dry rot in the u joint boot that was allowing water to get in. Wow does she go on the water now ! Thank You for all the help
