1990 johnson 70hp no spark

I have a johnson 70 horse and

I have a johnson 70 horse and it ran fine last fall now i pulled it out and wouldnt start. so i disconnected the black/yellow wire at the control box that goes to the ignition and kill switch and it runs fine. does this mean its the kil switch or could it be a sensor? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
