Finished driveshaft seals and shiftrod o rings, ran it in tank for 1/2 hour, all seemed good. Finally got the weather to get out. Got about 1/4 mile and it died, just like running out of fuel. Was able to nurse it home with the choke and revving it up in neutral, slowing down put in gear then full throttle for 10 sec before it quit again, Back at the dock, it wouldn't start no way, no how. Back to the tank, nothing. Primer bulb full, full choke nothing. Loosened fuel pump cover, squeezed same, fuel leaked out. Removed fuel line @ carb inlet. squeezed bulb, fuel flow there also. At this point ( and each step b4 ) the engine never flooded out and the plugs were dry. Had no ether to try. At this point, I removed the carburetor, was surprised to find it with fuel in it. Completely disassembled it. It looked good, blew all passages out, tubes, etc. Found 1 item I didn't expect ( though it's not the culprit), the new seat that came with the rebuild kit I used 1 month ago, has a smaller dia. than the main orifice (jet). It is an Evinrude kit, the one I replaced has the same size dia. as the main jet. so I reinstalled it. When I removed the carb, I blew into the inlet, it seemed that the needle was stuck, but after finding fuel in the bowl, I now think the float and needle and seat were doing their job. Put it all back together, but as I had to loctite a piece, can't attempt to start til tomorrow. I again checked spark with the spark gap checker @ 7/16", good blue spark. Any thoughts ?, my tools are still out. Thanks, JB
