"Tangles.... I assume you're speaking of your 70hp engine? I've had times when I've had to replace one or two thread sections with helicoils, but personally I've never run into a case whereas all the holes needed helicoils. I suppose it could happen though, and as long as the helicoils were installed properly and the work guaranteed, it would make for a stronger installation. For what it's worth, the cyl head bolt torque is 18 to 20 foot pounds.
