1990 evinrude 70hp warning buzzer

" This engine goes along fine untill i head into the swell and put the nose down,at about 5000 rpm the temp buzzer goes of.Stop engine restart and away she goes untill i put it under the same pressure.engine does not feel to hot and water pump parts are ok .Could this be a fault in something electrical??.9 out of 10 time engines restarts fine but once it went into shut down and only went on 2 cylinders.Temp runs about 85C

These motors also have a fuel restriction alarm kinda sounds the same long tone. My motor sometimes would lose prime and this would sound when I would hit wake. I replaced my fuel lines and primer ball and remove my fuel tank check valve Fixed

I have same problem with 1989

I have same problem with 1989 Evinrude 70hp VRO. I get a constant beep and engine runs rough. If I run the boat at low speeds (5-10knots) there's no problem. It's only when I'm almost on the plane that it starts it's beep. The impella and thermostat were changed under 12 months ago and there's a good squirt coming from the side. I was told by a mechanic that it's the engine overheating due to blockages (eg. salt and corrosion build up) in the head and water jacket.
I haven't had it fixed yet.
