I'm getting a temp alarm o

I'm getting a temp alarm on this motor when I have more than 5 persons in the boat. The S.L.O.W function is also active after the temp alarm. The impeller is ~ 1 yr old; the water discharge does not feel HOT after temp alarm and also I replaced the temp sensor and made sure the wires were away from the spark plugs and spark plug wires. If I am by myself in the boat or only 4 persons all is OK

"Do you run in salt/dirty/silty even mineral rich water?

You can get a build-up in the water jackets/channels that kinda works like insulation. In your case it may only be manifesting itself (right now) when you are really making the motor work hard.

A cheap fix, if that is your problem (and won't hurt or cost much even if it isn't) is run your motor in a garbage can full of water, mixed 50:50 with white vinegar (about 99 cents a gallon at the grocery store).

On a smaller motor I normally lay them down, pull the thermostat and just fill the jackets up with pure vinegar - but that's a little tough to do with a 200 horse - but you can get inventive.

The vinegar dissolves salt/minerals other "guck" and does not harm the engine, rubber or anything else...."

"I solved a similiar heating p

"I solved a similiar heating problem on my 1990 200HP Evinrude, Model E200STLESE, by replacing the three-way control valve assembly (P/N 394407) that controls water pressure to the thermostat diaphragms. It was leaking through and not dumping water pressure off the diaphragms (which is designed to open the t-stats completely for maximum power boost cooling) as it should at RPM's over 2000 RPM. I had to do a lot of testing (measuring water pressures and head temperatures) to diagnose this problem. Good luck.
