"Just thought I would show some pictures of my block repair on the crank seal area. It turned out well. It is within .0005" of the other crank seal bores.

Hopefully it will work!!

Sounds familiar! My 1989 200X

Sounds familiar! My 1989 200XP lasted about 10 minutes the first time I put it in the water. Powerhead # 2(warranty) lasted about 75 hours. Failure was same as yours. When it was torn down I was told that all of the other crank seals were severely worn as well. I never saw the repair but I was told that the machine shop used "epoxy". So far it has lasted another 5 years(75-100 hours) so I'm expecting failure anytime now!
