"Testing the charge coil on the subject motor:
1) Is the inside supposed to be worn like this exposing the metal contacts?
2) Per the test in the manual I am reading 7.4 M Omhs from terminal "D" to terminals "A" "B" "C". Does anyone know what this resistance reading needs to be?

"dontworry too much about exact resistance, as long as there is continuity it is probably ok.

put it back on the motor and check for pulsing voltage output around 1-5 volts dc with neg on D and pos on the others while cranking"
