"Roberto, take Mauro's advice and contact Bayliner.

I would think that the boat is probably rated for a 125 horse (or something close). The thing to remember though, whatever number they tell you is for a 2 stroke motor.

If you are planning on repowering that is somethig to keep in mind.

A 125 horse two stroke may weigh in at 350 pounds while a 4 stroke could easily outweigh that by 100 pounds or more. The horsepower is fine, but the boat may not track and handle properly with the extra weight hanging off the back.

Within the past couple of years I noticed something on a particular boat model I was looking at. In 2006 it had a max hp rating of 150 horse. In 2007 the same boat came out with a rating of 115 horse. So I asked about the difference.

The answer from the mfg was that a "new" 115 weighs about the same as an old 2 stroke 150, so they lowered the max rating so the boat would handle as designed with the extra weight of the 4 strokes...."
