"just bought a used boat with a 90 HP mariner. Took it out, cranked fine, idled fine. when throttled up the motor, it ran fine for a few minutes then started acting like it was running out of gas or starving for gas. pumped the fuel bubble and it picked up and ran ok for a brief time then went back to starving for or running out of gas. when u go back to idle it seems to do fine. could anyone please help me?"

Rodney sounds like either 1&#4

Rodney sounds like either 1) bad fuel pump requiring rebuild or 2) clog in the high speed jet(s) on the carbs that you were forcing gas past with the extra pressure.

Rebuild the fuel pump and clean the carbs - wouldn't hurt doing both in either case...

My brother had a similar issue, turned out to be a faulty fuel line connector on motor. Was sucking air passed a perished seal... New connector later, problem solved!

Worth looking into maybe?
