1990 9.9 electric E10RELESC shift rod bushing removal

Hi and thank you for all your help guys,
I am replaceing the seals on the gear case. I need to remove the shift rod bushing. How do you remove the bushing and is it necessary to replace the bushing also?

The bushing is merely a way to hold the O-ring in there.------------You can run a 5/16" tap in there say 3 turns and pull it out with bolt / threaded rod.------Re-use the bushing or replace it , your choice.
